About us

Players World of Sports has a long-standing history as an independent, family-owned business, proudly serving the local Hilton Head Island community since 1982.

Players World of Sports has a strong reputation in Hilton Head Island and surrounding communities as the go-to experts in tennis racquet selection, racquet re-stringing, and the fast-growing sport of pickleball. We offer a wide selection of top-name brand racquets, paddles, apparel, court shoes, bags, and accessories.

Our Story

Players World of Sports was acquired in 2023 by long-time family friends and business partners, Daryl and Kathy Daye of Bluffton, SC, and Jeff and Heather Yakes of Hardeeville, SC. Daryl and Kathy were D1 athletes at LSU, (football and gymnastics, respectfully) Jeff is a former basketball, soccer, and baseball athlete, and Heather is a former World Champion baton twirler. All four share not only the love of sports but have a passion for an active lifestyle and a commitment to their local community as residents in the Hilton Head area.
